Ingredients: Organic red lentils
Red lentils are wonderfully versatile and easy to prepare. They can be used to make a nourishing soup, or the cooked lentils can be added to salads and main dishes for extra protein and texture. Puréed lentils can also be used as a base for croquettes, spreads, or vegetarian patties
Rinse the lentils throughly and check for any small stones, debris, or damaged lentils and remove them before cooking
Add the lentils to a pot with three times as much water as lentils (for example, 1 cup of lentils to 3 cups of water)
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let them simmer gently
Cook uncovered for about 10–15 minutes for a firm texture, or up to 20 minutes for a softer consistency.
Skim off any foam that forms on the surface during cooking
