How to refill
There are several ways to shop at Gram, and it’s really easy!
Bring your own containers
If you bring your own containers*, make sure they are clean and dry. Then follow these simple steps:
Weigh
Place your container on the scale, with the lid on, then write the weight shown on the bottom of the container
Fill
Refill your containers with the products you need
Pay
Take your filled containers to the till
*Please wash your containers thoroughly before bringing them. Gram cannot accept liability for any contamination once products are placed in your containers
If you have forgotten or don’t have your own containers
Use our paper bags
If you don’t bring your own containers, we have brown paper bags in small and large sizes for your convenience. These are free!
Buy containers at Gram
We sell glass preserving jars in various sizes, bottles for liquids and cloth bags
Reuse a container
We usually have some glass or plastic containers that have been donated

Our system ensures that our products stay fresh and clean
The containers
The containers we use are made of BPA-free, food-safe plastic. Most food items are stored in closed "gravity silos," where you hold your bag or jar under it, pull a lever, and the product is dispensed
Other, more "chunky" or finely ground products (such as nuts or flour) are stored in food bins with lids, just like candy
Storage
In the stockroom, we store everything in sealed, airtight boxes and follow strict hygiene procedures for cleaning and refilling the containers
